The Drunken Glory
Drunken Glory Scriptures
"Let our hearts gratefully remember the former loving kindnesses of the Lord: we were sadly low, sorely distressed,
and completely past hope, but when Jehovah appeared he did not merely lift us out of despondency, he raised us into

he brings to heaven. He turns exile into ecstasy, and banishment into bliss."
-Charles Spurgeon, Treasury of David
"Now what is a trance? A trance is the Spirit taking predominance over the mind and body, and for the time being the
control of the individual is by the Spirit; but our ignorance of the operations of God is such that even ministers of religion
have been known to say it is the devil."
-John G. Lake

The Drunken Glory is the wine of the new covenant, the Holy Spirit. Just like in Acts 2 the Apostle Peter had to explain they were not drunk on alcohol, they were drunk on the Holy Spirit as it was prophesied in the book of Joel, "I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh!"
We celebrate the cup of the new covenant deeply to the point of intoxication. The Holy Spirit is real. More real to us than drugs and alcohol, and we are in love with God. Song of Solomon 5:1 invites us to "Eat, friends, drink, and be drunk with love!"
